ART DIRECTION

Sometimes, the work I do doesn't easily fall into a clear-cut category, but the concepts and presentations are no less important to demonstrating my ability to define and deliver conceptual ideas, push the envelope, and really force us all to think outside the box.

Below are summaries of concepts for clients that were really integral to my professional development. Due to the NDA in place, the creative is under wraps. If you'd like to know more about them, I'd be happy to walk through them with you.

EXPERIENCE DESIGN: THE NEW BALTIMORE

in 2019, our team of editors, interactive producers, developers and creatives was challenged with the task of "doing something very different" with the new Baltimore website.

Through a series of brainstorming activities, interviews, exploring the destination, and really asking ourselves "why" websites are structured the way they are and "how" users want information or online experiences we came up with two ideas that truly pushed the envelope on a website experience, telling the destination's story thought the eyes of it's people, and really diving into the details of what makes Baltimore so unique.

The idea was so far out of our comfort zone that the potential costs were unknown in the final development, but the client wanted us to let go, "Don't hold back."

So we didn't.

Concept included;  Character Story Development • Asset Generation (Photo, Video & Sound Design) • Unique UX/UI Journey's and Flows • Unique Content Creation Ideation • Unique Website Structure Development (Drupal)

RECOVERY CAMPAIGN DESIGN: WASHINGTON, DC

The presentation design was by far one of my favorites, affording me the opportunity to drive the creative idea, to present using sound, video and the element of surprise, all virtually through Zoom.

Concept included;  Potential Artist Acquisition & Cooperation (Including Visual Artists: Painters, Sculptors, Light, Performance Artists: Dancers, Actors, Musicians: Songwriters, Musical Artists) • Content Design (Video, Photo), Website Support (Campaign Landing Page, Content) • Expanded Media Placements and Unique Media Capabilities

In 2021, our team responded to an RFP for a new recovery campaign to help Washington, DC harness the power of their recovery efforts and catapult their presence in the tourism market with new, innovative and exciting ideas.

The original pitch was more narrow, focusing just on the visual artist and their interpretation of the city, using experiences that would appeal to the client's demographic market.

The evolved idea moved into the realm of "Branded Entertainment" using all types of artists to sing, dance, create, explore and narrate the city in their own voices.
